From June 6th to 12th, 2022, the Fuorisalone brings the most exclusive events of the interior design world to Milan: if the Brera Design Week offers more than 160 appointment among exhibitions, installations and presentations, the Isola Design Festival, now in its sixth edition, is preparing to welcome more than 250 names between international designers and studies. But the schedule of Milano Design Week 2022 is even longer and more varied: we have selected 4 destinations for true #designlovers in search of showrooms and pop-up shops!1) BRERA
In the street grid of the Brera neighborhood, nicknamed the #DesignDistrict, there are numerous presentation that shouldn’t be missed: take a look at the new Calligaris Group show-room at 21 Via Solferino, the largest flagship store in the world, and a peek at the splendid courtyard within 18 Via Solferino, where guests can admire the bathroom accessories of Flaminia, Fantini and Treemme together with the lamps of Viabizzuno. Number 4 Piazza S. Marco features the wall papers of London Art, while 71 Corso Garibaldi hosts the iconic furnishings of USM in the historic Rossignoli bicycle store.
2) 5VIE
In the oldest part of the city, noted for its star-shaped form, hybrid exhibitions of art and design are sprinkled throughout historic buildings and secret gardens. 14 Cesare Correnti hosts two inspired curatorial projects – “Woven Whispers” by Richard Yasmine and “little monsters/scary beasts” by co/risom – while the Galleria dei Benefattori and the spaces of FabLab feature two collective exhibitions that also give an opportunity to emerging designers and brands to introduce their works. At 21 Via Santa Marta, don’t miss the presentation of the new collection of lighting by Maison Matisse, French brand founded by the family of the famous painter of the same name.
3) ISOLA DESIGN DISTRICT
Too numerous to count are the programme events in areas of the Isola neighborhood, one of the focal points of Milano Design Week: among the exhibitions being staged, the one at 14 Via Pastrengo and regarding contemporary design, stands out – “Isola Design Gallery”, with pieces from designers and independent studios of the Isola Design community exhibited in the spaces of the ex-factory, and “Vita Lenta”, large sensory installation in Piazza Città di Lombardia, on the living habits of Japanese people. We also recommend a visit to 11 Via Confalonieri to admire the unconventional furnishings of Spanish studio Masquespaio with its “Mas Creations Collections”.
4) TORTONA
It’s not MDW without events organized by Superstudio Più in the lively setting of Tortona, one of the trendiest neighborhoods of Milan during the days of the Fuorisalone. Among all of these things, it’s impossible not to mention the immersive experience of “Home, switch home”, an installation dedicated to the theme of the smart home in an exhibition space of more than 1,000m2, and Supergarden, the exhibition on garden art curated by Giulio Cappellini who narrates the new items of open-air furnishings. Finally, a special mention to the DONNE&DESIGN project, to which the stage of the largest exhibition hub of Design Week is dedicated, at 27 Via Tortona.
